Peugeot 206 SW - 206sw airbox sensor and whining noise when slowing - sgilwhite

1. i have a 206 sw quicksilver 2004. i want to put an induction kit in it but have read that i shouldnt if i have an airbox sensor.

does anyone know if my model does have one?

2. when im driving the car and its in gear and i take my foot off the accelerator, the engine makes a loud-ish noise as the car is slowing. this happens no matter what gear i am in but hard to notice when im in 5th gear. the noise only happens when i am not pressing in the clutch

ne ideas?

The engine code is in the vin number .Yours probably starts VF*** then 3 letters .These 3 will be the engine series.

Air box kits may look better but in reality they do not give the performance increase (if any increase) promised by the makers. What they do is make more noise and a noisier car is obviously faster than a quiet car. You also need to inform your insurers of a mod like this, they will class it as a modification and will increase your premium, if you don't and its discovered should you have an accidnet you will find yourself without cover.

My advice is to forget it and save your money.
