Vauxhall AstraVan article - daveyK_UK
An enjoyable read

I did use to enjoy driving the astra vans, they where the fastest around.
The only problem I had with them was the back end would spin out if it was carrying weight and you took a corner to fast.
After a while you could gauge the corner and accelerator perfectly to get just enough roll to make you smile but also avoid any near misses.

I know Dacia have considered turning out a Sandero estate/panel van version and its still under discussion.

I do still think there is a market for such a van.
Especially if one of the big boys like Vauxhall pushed it.

I looked into these but found the lack of side doors would just be too much of a hindrance during day-to-day use.

As for the pendulum effect on handling, while carrying the full complement of tools and loads of scrap cable I went barreling into the 'spiral' coming off the M25 onto the A30 at Egham in my Berlingo and found the back trying to overtake the front - they all do that sir!
