Flies are back - Happy Blue!

I recall an article in a paper a few years back saying that the environment was poorer because there were fewer flies around. Proof was the reduced number of flies on a car after a long summer journey.

Well I can tell you that after our trip to London on Sunday - flies are well and truly back! Had to get the power wash out today when I realised that I couldn't remove the smears on the windscreen by wash/wipe alone.

'power wash', 'wash-wipe'?

10% vinegar/water on a piece of newspaper works best of all - although you will need to bend your elbow a bit.

Thats taken me back a bit, you'd have seen my mate and myself cleaning our respective windows in the loading halls at Wapping Print during the late 80's with exactly that combination ready for the flat out blast to get 'em out on time....i bet you know exactly where i mean MH...;)
