Mazda 6 - Brokers vs Emailing direct - wwp8

Just like to mention this to everyone, there are many brokers out there who mention they can get you an amazing deal, and some are true to their word, but why pay them £500 to make a couple of phonecalls/emails on your behalf, when you can do it all yourself, just like we did.

My girlfriend emailed nearly 100 car dealers and enquired about price of the car, we really didn't expect much of a response, but the respones was over whelming. After two days of communicating with dealers, biggest discount off RRP was £2,617. We decided to use a dealer closer to home and have a humble £2,466 discount.

So if you think contacting dealers is pointless, then please rethink... they can only say no. We just paid our deposit and while on the phone to the dealer I pushed my luck and got free mats.

What spec did you go for?

£2,466 doesnt seem to be alot off to be honest, certianly not for a large saloon.

You can get treble that figure of a monde or insignia.

I would imagine that's because Mazda 6s are imported in lower numbers than Fords or Vauxhalls, and as a newish model are in demand.

According to my local Mazda dealer - most of the new Mazda 6's have been put aside for fleet/business use.

They have a waiting list for the basic trim (SE) and only had one mid level trim available SE-L). They were able to get a few of the top trim level in though (Sport).

My local dealer was offering me £500 off if paying with cash/cheque, but 2k off if going through finance

We went for the Saloon 2.2d sport nav (175) manual in black.
