Vauxhall Crossland X 2020 - Advice: Is my exhaust too low? - Kris Sinclair

I just had a new aftermarket exhaust fitted to my car by one of the big dealers after they reported the original was damaged. My neighbour pointed out to me that it looked very low as he spotted it while parking behind my car. Is this too low? It certainly looks like a high speedbump might make contact.

If so, what can I do? I paid a fortune for it because it is not covered in my extended warranty.

Appriciate any advice you have.

Think I’d be concerned about how much damage there was previously. Is the dealer just trying to upsell new parts . Original exhaust system should run fairly close the the underneath of the car . Aftermarket exhaust systems rarely fit exactly the same way as original parts

I wouldn't be happy with that.

nor i, i'd want that sorting.

Maybe too late now but MIJ exhausts in Walsall can make and fit a lifetime warranty custom stainless steel system, while you wait, for in many cases less than a poor quality aftermarket mild steel.

I've had two made and fitted by them, under £300 each system, though the last one was probably 4 years ago now so possibly gone up a bit since then.

This is too low and potentially poorly supported. I would be astonished if any dealer would refuse to put this right if you take it back to them.
