I have recently had 2 new tyres fitted to the rear of my 2012 520d. Pirelli P7 Centurato run flats

I was told the tracking was out and paid to have it done. Before it was tracked, the handling felt solid. Now when I go round a corner (particularly left) it feels like it is going to step out, even at a low speed. I haven't driven it in the wet since it's been done and nervous in case it does slip out. Travelling at a higher speed on the motorway today, everything went really light to the point it made me nervous. I have driven many cars at speed and none of them ever made me feel like that.

What is the best set up for the 4 wheel alignment please? Any recommendations?

Did they do tracking or alignment? Tracking is only on the front wheels so should have no effect on the rear. Alignment is a lot more expensive and covers front or back or both.

Have you taken it back and said you're unhappy?

Could just be having new tyres on there. Brand new ones do have less grip and runflats take a bit of getting used to.

I agree with Adam. Isn’t it something to with traces of release agent remaining on the tyre that takes a few miles to wear off? I would also check that all the tyre pressures are correct, some fitters don’t use the correct psi.

My final thought is that I’ve been considering non run-flat P7s for our Vitara as they are relatively cheap in our size. What’s putting me off is that some user reviews complain about grip especially in the wet.

Probably worth checking your tyre pressure's, presumably you used a fast fit place?

You won't know until the tyres have run enough to scrub the 'whatever it is they use' off, could be up to 1000 miles before you get to feel the real tyre on the large sizes such a car will have.
