Peugeot 308 SW - Peugeot 308 SW Allure 2016 reg- Code P15B3 - ma9gm

Hi,

I had the service light pop up on my 308SW the other day. When I plugged in my reader it gave me the code P15B3. Which I believe means the Additive is low. So I added 10l of Adblue into the adblue tank to fill it up. I then tried to reset the code and it won't go. Does anyone know how to sort out this code? Should it automatically clear itself after filling it up? Or could there be other issues going on?

Appreciate any help or advice.

Very possible that there is a problem with the adblue pump and/ or control module . All part of the adblue tank . About £600 for parts .

Ah, Thank you so much. I had the adblue tank replaced back in July last year. Hopefully it's still under warranty!! I really don't want to pay to replace that!!

Some of these have an Def eolysys tank as well as the adblue tank . Need to check that out . This could be low on fluid .

Oh, I have no idea what a def eolysys tank is. I will have a look to see if mine has it. Are they easy to refill? Or is that a garage thing?

No easy filler on these . Get a garage to check it out .

Brilliant. I'll get it booked into the garage.

If the Eolys additive tank is running low you should be seeing "Particle filter additive low" or "risk of filter blocking" on the info screen.

But I wouldn't expect it to be low on a 5 year old car, unless you've done lots of fuel fillups of small amounts - an amount of additive is injected into the fuel system every time you fill up.

Hi,

My car is a 308 SW 1.6 120HP year 2015. 108k miles.

I bought it in 2018, with 62k mi:les. I don't know if previous owner filled Fuel Additive.

From 62k miles to 108k miles, I didn't refill Fuel Additive (I didn't even know I had to)

I also have a P15B3 DTC when performing a diagnosis on 'Car Scanner' App.I'm surprised I don't have a clear message (low level) on my dashboard.

messages I have are:

1. flashing Urea. (Although my UREA tanks is full)

2. Car will not tart in 550 miles.

3. Orange engine symbol

From my understanding (hours on google), there is NO level sensor in the EOLYS tank. instead, the level is calculated by the ECU. The assumed level is based on volume of EOLYS put initially in the tank, the number of time the fuel tank has been filled, and the amount of fuel put at each refill.

So If I fill up my Fuel addtive tank + erase the DTC on my 'car Scanner' App + put few liters of Fuel at the pump station, I assume I'll still have the error message, Correct? As to get rid of the error message, I need to tell the ECU that my Fuel additive is full, and this something I can't do without going to a garage that can access core functions in my ECU and reset it.

Can the update of the ECU only be done with the Diagbox software?

Regarding the P1446 DTC. Is the decision of dosing some fuel additive where refilling fuel tanks is linked to Evaporative Vac Solenoid Circuit? If yes, where is located this EVAP device? My undertanding is that this EVAP is linked to the Fuel tank and not to the Fuel additive tank (EOLYS).

Sorry for the long message, but there are so many devices involved in the fuel management, I couldn't make it simple.

Regards

Jean-Guy

Yes, You will probably need someone with DIAGBOX to tell the car that the tank has been filled.
