Engine management light - Rog46

Hi, Ive recently had the engine management light pop on my petrol car. The obd code is linked to a pre cat oxygen sensor. Before replace that I was told get some vpower petrol in and drive on the motorway aiming for high revs.

Is this true, would seperate additives help

Thanks

It wont do any harm to use some V Power (other than to your wallet) but as to whether it will miraculously turn off the light is probably very unlikely.

Most additives are snake oil and will cost more that the extra you pay for the V Power so best avoided.

But if there is a real issue with the sensor driving at high revs on the motorway could actually cause more issues.

Have you checked the price of the sensor. Last one I bought was a Bosch and under £50.

Let’s hope it’s not a Lexus . Front lambda sensor around £500.

Rubbish. What's V Power, other than regular petrol with additives?

TV show 5th Gear did a comprehensive test on additives, and it showed ones like Redex and Cataclean DO work.
