Mondeo Mk III - Mondeo EML Fault P0443 - Michael Weathers

P0443 is "Purge Control Valve Circuit"

This fault was diagnosed some weeks ago

The solenoid valve was changed but the EML light came on again a week or two later

I have been told the fuel (petrol) filler cap seal has to be good,,,,,,,,is this true?

If so a new filler cap might do the trick..........................Thanks mw

Fuel cap needs to be a good fit for sure, but don’t think this is your problem. You need to get the electrical circuit checked from the purge valve to the engine control unit . Hopefully a good diagnostic tester will be able to activate the system . Also check any pipe work from the engine to fuel tank .
