Hi All,

I'm trying to figure out what are regulations here in UK (or specifically in Scotland) regarding studded winter tyres? I tried to find out, but couldn't find any definitive answer in official sources.

Concensus seems to be that while they're not specifically outlawed their use may be enough to justify prosecution under various bits of law around construction and use and/or damage to carriageway. Also likely to be less grippy than ordinary tyres when used on non-ice surfaces whether wet or dry.

Better answer might be proper winter tyres and acquiring technique for driving on ice/snow.
