Diamondbrite - stanlee

Been offered this on a used car purchase for an eye watering £400 !

Is it worth the money ?

No. You can do as good a job yourself in half a day for a small fraction of the price. You can even buy the product on ebay, Autoglym also offer s similar products. Any care care forum such as detailingworld.co.uk will have plenty of information explaining how to do it.

Don't bother - I had a Civic that had it done from new by the dealer by mistake (long story) and to be honest I dont think it made a scrap of difference to the finish on the paintwork-just as well I didn't pay for it! What did make a difference was a good dose of Autoglym super resin polish once a year.

When buying a few years ago- I can remember being offered a canvas bag of "car care goodies" marketed under the name of Superguard or some such-paint hardener, alloy wheel cleaner, super resin polish, assorted dusters, seat cleaner and varous interior sprays and wipes etc etc-what was truly shocking was the price £200. Naturally I declined-but having negotiated my new car price-the sales guy threw it in for free . When i had more time--i investigated more closely and calculated that had I gone to any motorists shop--I could have got the lot for about £25.

Since then I use elbow grease( free) ,water and a twice a year application of Autoglym-the latter being very simple to apply-producing a showroom shine!

I agree with the 2 above, wash it with half decent car wash and polish/wax it once or twice a year.

I now use Bilt Hambers double speed wax and it remains on the car for months.

I bought a car privately that had already been treated. I got the full pack that came with the car.

To answer your question succinctly – No!

When my Dad bought his current car he simply got a local mobile valet to wash and wax with Autoglym. About £40 and a real good job.

Buying a Ford 3 years ago, offered Diamondbrite, for about same money. Unless you are there in person when its done you dont know how its applied and how well. So I refused, bought the same stuff on internet, and made sure I did it to my satisfaction and saved myself over £300.
So no. Dont bother. Its only the sales person trying to make more comission on the sale.
And as has been said, there are plenty of products for a lot less that you can apply yourself. Or just get a good valeter out once a year to do the same for a hell of a lot less.
