Does anyone know what type of materiels(products) these friendly drive through hand car wash guys use? --there is the squirty stuff that first get's jet sprayed all over the car, followed by jet water of course--then bubbly sponges are applied all round that -at worst-look a bit like washing up liquid Finally if i go for the wax polish--a pink substance in a plastic bottle is liberally annointed then polished off. To finish--a paint brush dresses the tyres with "shine" and if i get the inside cleaned-I notice the guys use some kind of aerosol stuff for the dash which sort of shines--but mainly leaves a lemony smell!

One day last summer --I asked them if they would use my own bottle of AutoGlym car polish and they were delighted to oblige!... they did a brill job!

I wouldn't use a hand car wash again, The only time I used the local one they left a big zig zag scratch across my bonnet and a host of other scratches.

I prefer them myself, I used a machine one at our local jag dealer a few years ago and it left mine scratched all over, but very small,you had to look close to see them, but they were there,very annoying as paintwork was almost perfect before

Not used one since, only hand wash

Our local establishment is on an ex fuel station forecourt and run by a gang of our Eastern European friends. Thye use all Autoglym products as far as I can tell and they give a fantastic quality of wash with friendly service. At weekends the queue is out onto the road.

I dare say the quality at these establishments is extremely variable. Why don't you call in and ask what they use? Ask around in your local shops if they know people who use it?

We also have several mobile valeters round our way who seem to be busy.

Audi A3 - Friendly hand car wash - Trilogy

Recently, a bit short of time, I had a car washed at local supermarket. Never again. Windows were shammied resulting in a badly smeared. I have feeling the same shammy went all over the car.

I've always washed it myself. This will continue to be the case.
