What's the best affordable van to convert to a camper?

I have £9000 to buy a van to convert into a camper. I want to travel full time - what van do you suggest?

If you’re planning to convert a van into a camper for travelling then you’ll need something that’s large and reliable. Sadly, with a budget of £9000, your options are rather limited. Something like the Ford Transit Custom would be my recommendation, but £9000 will only secure you a 2012 model with high mileage. Instead, I’d look at the Vauxhall Vivaro and Renault Trafic. Both are cheaper to buy used and £9000 should secure a 2014 model with average mileage.

Remember, when buying a van for a motor home conversion, you'll want the newest and best conditioned vehicle you can find as you'll be tied to it for the long term once you've spent money on the conversion. For buying advice, see: vans.honestjohn.co.uk/how-to-buy-and-sell/
