Which oil should I use to replace my Peugeot 307's gearbox oil?

I wish to renew my Peugeot 307 2.0-litre HDi's gearbox oil (manual five-speed) as my mileage is around 100,000 and I don't know if its been done. The manual states Esso or Total BV 75w 80. I went to a car shop and saw that they list EP 75w 80 for the car, EP being extreme pressure, I assume, but what is BV? Is this EP 75W80 okay or should I search elsewhere for some specific BV 75W 80? Also, if renewing, is there a fill to spill hole on the side or should I totally drain and refill it with the specific quantity from top and bottom?

If you go on the web you will see that BV is an oil company, similar to Esso, Shell etc. You are correct in that EP stands for extreme pressure, which most modern gearboxes use. Therefore I do not see a problem in using EP oil that you can purchase elsewhere. As for filling, we don't have specific detail of each and every car and so cannot say where the level is for your car. Do you have a handbook?
