Volkswagen Golf suspension knocking sound

I recently had the rear part of the exhaust changed on my 2005 Volkswagen Golf. The front driver's side spring also had work done. When I collected the car and drove away everything seemed fine, but then after some 10 minutes the car started making a knocking sound when it went over bumps.

The noise also happens when I shake the steering wheel left and right while driving. It is quite loud and doesn't sound healthy at all. In fact, it sounds like something scrapping. Had a mechanic look the car over, but he couldn't find the problem. Can you help?

Might be an anti-roll bar sleeve bush. They sometimes slip out. Sound more serious than the problem actually is.
