Are the cable clutches used on the Suzuki Splash prone to problems?
I am in the process of buying a Suzuki Splash 1.2 GLS and have found out it has a cable clutch. Is there any history of problems with this on this car and is this old technology or do other cars have them?

Volkswagens used to have them. Lots of cars did in the 1980s. They can be problem-free, but sometimes the self adjustor designed to take up slack can take up too much slack and lead to a slipping clutch, that then wears rapidly. That used to happen a lot on Volkswagens.
