Bought a car with faulty brakes - what are my rights?

Three weeks ago I bought an Audi S5 from a dealer in Leicestershire (not Audi). The MoT was issued in late March and, I am guessing, was obtained by the previous owner who lived many miles away since the test station was in his area rather than Leicestershire.

The dealer discussed the advisory elements of the MoT with me which were that the front and rear brake pads were wearing thin. Knowing that I intended to do very little mileage in the car (about 2000 miles per annum ) and that I planned a service for it very soon, I accepted the car with a three months warranty. I quickly noticed a slight juddering when braking and arranged a free brake check with a nationwide tyre retailer.

It was discovered that all the pads and discs needed replacing, the discs being scored by pads virtually down to the metal. The work required costs £700 using non-Audi parts. How do I stand on recovering this from the supplying dealer?

The supplying dealer has to do the work or pay for someone else to do the work because whatever the MoT said the car was clearly "not of satisfactory standard". MoT inspections are fairly rudimentary. Wheels are not removed because time is not allowed for this.
