Which hatchback has a low boot sill and enough space for a rescue greyhound?

I'm looking to give a home to a rescue greyhound and will therefore need to upgrade from my 10-year-old Peugeot 206. I am looking to buy used and would prefer a hatchback or small estate with a low boot sill and enough space so that the dog has easy access. I have a budget of £4000-6000. What would you recommend?

A Ford Focus Estate would probably be ideal for you as it's good value and has a large boot area but isn't a big estate. It's also very well built and reliable too. For your budget you could get a tidy Focus Estate Mk2 with low miles. The 1.6-litre petrol engine is ideal if you don't intend to do too many miles.

As good as the hatchback. Great to drive and very refined. Upmarket and comfortable interior. Usefully large boot. The best looking estate this size.
