Why is the 2015 BMW 320iSE hard to drive in stop start traffic?

I am the proud owner of a new 2015 model BMW 320i SE manual. I am very surprised at how notchy the gearchange is when selecting 1st, 2nd and reverse gears. The clutch action is also heavier than other cars I've driven and the stop/start feature sends an unpleasant shudder through the car. Basically, it's unpleasant and tiring to drive in traffic jams. Will matters improve or do I just have to live with it?

I haven't driven this latest version with the new engine, but ran an F30 320dED for 9 months with no such problems. I'd get the clutch action checked. It may not be disengaging properly. There may be a fault with the slave cylinder.
