Normal life span for MINI brake discs?

I have a leased Mini Cooper 2012 and have been advised there is "critical" brake disc corrosion on the rear brakes. Is this normal for a car that is driven daily with 30,000 miles on the clock? The dealer wants them replaced before I return the car. According to them, under the fair wear and tear policy the brake discs have to be in good order and are not covered under warranty.

That stinks a bit. They have corroded because rear brakes don't actually get used enough to clean off overnight corrosion. But to sting you for a new set when the car is on a BMW MINI lease is out of order. Suggest to the supplying dealer of the car and of the lease that you take the matter to the small claims track of the county court and have a judge decide.
