Would you like some feedback on my 2009 Toyota Verso?

Having purchased a 2009 model Toyota Verso, I thought you might appreciate some feedback. I agree 100 per cent that my "2.0D is uninspiring to drive" - its either underpowered or over-geared, and seems to like more revs than I would expect from a diesel. As an aside, I've driven diesels since 1993.

Although well built, I find the car very disappointing. Economy hovers around 44mpg, lower than I expected. What I found surprising was that at its first 10,000-mile service, the clutch and radio were replaced after developing faults. The clutch developed a judder, and the radio an intermittent fault whereby it would switch itself off. The dealer was excellent and all work was done without fuss, but I expected better from the car.

There are other irritating features. The instrument cluster's central positioning is - contrary to Toyota's guff - awkward to read. The door's self-locking feature is common to many cars, but will not open until the driver presses an unlock button. Opening the driver's door is not enough. Very, very irritating.

The car is arguably better than it was when new, but its got to go. Kia Sportage 2010, next June when a few have been built ?

There is now a facility for Owners' Reviews in all Car-by-Car Breakdown entries, so you can post this on site yourself, in this case at:

I have noticed that you have rarely, if ever, mentioned or recommend the Mitsubishi ASX. I part exchanged my 2004 Freelander for an ASX earlier this year and I have been most impressed with the vehicle....
