Why is my Peugeot 206 displaying the engine warning light?

My 2004 Peugeot 206 diesel had its EGR value replaced at its recent service. Since then the engine warning light has been permanently on. Any idea what's wrong?

I've heard of this happening before after replacement of the EGR. It probably just needs a reasonably long run to get it up to temperature and re-set it.
