Faulty turbocharger on Jaguar X-Type - what are my options?

My Jaguar X-Type diesel 2.2 is eight years old and has done 56,000 miles. A few days ago the engine warning light flashed on and power has become very restricted on starting. Usually recovers if I stop and restart after a few miles. Official Jaguar service agent has diagnosed sticking turbo actuator and says the only solution is a new turbocharger for about £2000.

I am planning to sell the car soon, but would like to get it working properly if this can be done at a lower cost. Is there a cheaper solution than a complete new turbocharger from a Jaguar dealership?

I'd be grateful for your advice

It's a Mondeo engine, so of course it can be fixed far more cheaply than via a Jaguar franchise. Take a look in good-garage-guide.honestjohn.co.uk/directory/searc.../
