Saab 9-3 turbo problems

I own a Saab 9-3 1.9 TDI (2006) and recently the engine management light came on, with lots of black smoke coming out of the exhaust. The EGR was replaced, along with the mass air flow and the ECU light stayed off for about 10 miles. It then came back on.

I rang the garage back they explained this is ok and it should go out after the car has had a good run. I decided to try and do this and the turbo kicked in brilliant then stopped and the car became very sluggish. I turned the ignition off and started the engine up again and the car seems fine again. The ECU light is still on.

Is the garage right about taking time for the light to go out? And does anyone know what happened with the turbo? I have only had the car 4 weeks and I am losing confidence in driving it

The turbo probably stopped because the oil feed pipe to is is partially blocked with carbon. You should have checked www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar before you bought this car
