What's the difference between a three and four studded driveshaft?

I need a driveshaft for the left side on my Citroen Saxo. Can you tell me what the difference is between a three studded and four studded driveshaft? The car currently has a three studded unit.

One has three wheel studs on the hub and the other has four studs. So if you have 3 stud wheels you need the 3 stud driveshaft and if you have 4 stud wheels you need the 4 stud driveshaft.
