Toyota Yaris indicators are too quiet - Can I make them louder?

My 2006 Toyota Yaris has a very quiet click when the indicator lights are on. The indicator green arrows are also not in front of the driver. I have asked my dealer if the noise of the indicator click can be made louder. They says that Toyota know this is a fault, but this was only rectified on the 2011 model and the indicator "click" cannot be made louder on the 2006 model.

I am afraid that if the indicators don't self cancel and I remain unaware- that I may have an accident as my indicator lights have been left on. Other than this, the Yaris is a brilliant small car. What can I do?

Maplin used to do volume enhancers, but these may not be suitable for the can bus wiring of the 2006 Yaris.
