Bought a faulty used car - what are my rights?

Two months ago I bought a used car for £749 - a 2005 Rover 25. It had covered 74,000 miles and was in good condition with three months left on the MoT. During the test drive I noticed the brakes were very squeaky and was assured they would be dealt with by the dealer.

I picked up the car a week later and was told new disks and pads had been fitted, also that the head gasket had been replaced a few weeks earlier.
Two weeks ago I was driving the car when it veered to the left violently on braking, narrowly missing another car.

The AA were called and I was told that the caliper bolts had been tightened to the point where they had stripped the threads and nearly caused a accident. The car was repaired by the AA patrol and was advised to send a letter of complaint to the dealer stating my dissatisfaction to which has not been responded to. What are my rights?

Here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/ But your rights are obviously limited when you actually paid less than 10% of the the cost of the car when it was new.
