Paid a garage to fix my car, but it still doesn't work - can I demand a refund?

My 2008 Ford Fiesta diesel broke down and a local garage did a diagnostic test and said injector number three needed replacing. I paid just over £300 for this work and the car drove out the garage exactly the same as it went in - jumping and in limp home mode.

The garage said the car needed warming up and would be ok, but the problems persisted. I took it back last week as it would no longer start and they charged me £50 to remove the rust from around the battery.

The problems carried on and I took it to another garage, who tell me it needs four new injectors. Is there anything I can do to get my money back from the initial garage as the fault was never fixed?

No, because the garage tried to fix it as cheaply as possible and fitted one new injector. In fact it needed four. So to fix it would have cost £1200, not £300. Very common failure on the 1.4 diesel.
