Will a 1997 SEAT Alhambra be more economical than our R-reg Ford Galaxy?

I own an R-reg Ford Galaxy GLX, 2-litre. I want something a little cheaper to run, as I do two one-and-a-half-hour school runs a day through town. Will the 1997 SEAT Alhambra diesel as a 1.9-litre be cheaper in fuel?

Yes. Should do about 35mpg across town.
