Should my wife keep her 1996 Ford Ka or try to sell it?

My wife has 1996 Ford KA, mileage 53,000, which has been well maintained, currently doing less than 2000 miles a year. It passed its MoT last April, but has on previous occasions needed some welding work. The engine is not using oil and it's generally running well. Should she keep it and hope for another year’s motoring out of it, or try to sell with the six months' MoT?

It's practically worthless, so she might as well keep running it until it has a major problem. But for your own peace of mind, check carefully for rust in the sills and floor. Kas are very rust-prone and if seriously weakened they will not offer much protection in a crash.
