Are all Mercedes-Benz C-Class models susceptible to ECU failures, or just the C200?

I am thinking of buying a Mercedes-Benz - a 1998 C240 has caught my eye. I know this site says that the ECU can go after 12 years. Is this only with the C200 or all C-Class models? Or should I go for a 184 W123 230E?

You're talking here of £500 bangers, so you simply take that £500 risk. If the ECU or anything else fails you simply scrap the car.
