Why has my 7-year-old Honda Jazz suffered an expensive bearing failure?
My noisy Jazz has been diagnosed with a worn bearing, which I am advised necessitates a replacement of all four bearings at a £1000 price tag. My car is a 2005 with 55,000 miles. I saw on your website that Honda has issued a service bulletin for gear bearings, which is news to me. As a previous owner of a 1996 Civic that never had a moment's trouble up to its sale in 2007, and an Accord before that, I am flabbergasted and not at all happy that my 7-year-old car has this problem. Is there a chance I could claim a free repair?

It’s a common failing on Mk1 Jazz. If your Jazz has always been serviced by Honda dealers then there is a chance that Honda will provide goodwill towards this.
