Where can I have the ABS pump replaced on my 2004 Honda Jazz cheaply?

I have a 2004 Honda Jazz automatic which has served me well. It has 127,000 miles on the clock and, apart from the occasional very costly service (courtesy of Honda, whom I no longer use) and a minor repair to corroded brake pipes last year, it has been extremely reliable. I made the decision a couple of years ago that I would keep the car until it literally grinds to a halt, or starts costing me unreasonable sums of money to maintain. However, the ABS pump has recently died and I have been advised that it will need replacing before the MOT in July.

The price I have been quoted for this is around £1300, including VAT, most of which is the cost of a new pump (over £900). My garage suggested I might want to see if I can find a reliably refurbished pump, which they will be pleased to fit. My first question is, is it possible to locate refurbished pumps and how best to ensure they are from a reliable source? My second question, given the negligible value of the car, is whether this repair is worth it or whether this might be the time to consider purchasing a replacement vehicle?

In my view it is now time to scrap the car. This is precisely the sort of thing that turns cars more than seven years old into economic write-offs. There are outfits that recondition ABS pumps, a few are listed here, by which I mean "listed". It does not imply a recommendation. www.honestjohn.co.uk/useful-websites/parts-accesso.../
