What is causing a knocking sound from the rear of my Mini One?

I have a 2008 Mini One that has only done 26,000 miles, and in the last eight months it’s had to have both rear link arms replaced at my local garage. It has in the last month developed a knocking noise at the rear. I have taking it back to my local garage and they can't find anything wrong with it. I’ve been to another local garage who again can hear it but cant find anything. There has been talk of a brush on the antiroll bar being dirty, but it is on the opposite side to the noise. I don't know if changing this will help but it’s about all I have to go on at the moment.

In a desperate attempt to get to the bottom of the mystery noise I called Mini who were willing to charge me £90 to run the diagnostics on it to tell me what the problem is. Or, as a gesture of goodwill, an engineer could sit in my car and confirm if there is a noise or not. Have you have any other letters about similar problems?

Plugging a car into a diagnostics computer will not find the source of a suspension knock. But if someone asserts that it will I'd like to know how. It's probably just a sleeve bush slipped out of one of the anti-roll bar U-shackles that hold the bar to the car.

Update: It turned out that’s what it was.
