Can I offer some advice on how someone can easily enter a car following a hip replacement?

You advised IW, Chester of a suitable car following hip replacement. Whichever car he uses he would be well advised when getting into the car to sit with both feet outside, press his knees together and swing both legs in at the same time. Otherwise putting one leg in first with the other outside the car may cause the hip joint to dislocate.

Good, sensible advice. That’s why I suggested upright cars with easy access and egress.
