Can you suggest what might improve the fuel consumption on my '06 Honda Jazz?

Can you suggest what might improve the 33 miles per gallon I'm getting with my '06 Honda Jazz, 1.4, purchased 12 months ago. True I only do fairly local journeys in the main but would like to get a better mileage.

Extend your journeys. If you average say 5 miles per journey then a lot of them will be on enriched mixture so 33mpg will be normal. You should get about 40 on a long run, sticking to speed limits. Shell V-Power Nitro + will probably more than pay for itself by improvement in mpg if you use the better torque at low rpm to change up earlier.
