Why does my new KA smoke on start up?

Six months ago I bought a new Ford KA. The car has only done 3000 miles, but started smoking and misfiring on start up. It seems to clear itself after a minute, but something is clearly wrong. It has been back to the Ford dealer, but needless to say it didn't smoke for them and nothing came up on the diagnostic test. Can you help?

Which engine? Presumably 1,242cc petrol. This makes it basically a FIAT 500, so if the Ford dealer can't fix it, take it to a Fiat dealer and make the Ford dealer pay.

Easy to drive and economical. Based on the Fiat 500 but handles much better. More room in rear than 500.
