Should I downgrade my Grand C Max 1.6 diesel for a 1.0T Ecoboost petrol?

I’m considering swapping my Ford Grand C-Max for a newer edition with the 1.0T Ecoboost engine. Is this a good idea and will it really save me money?

The Ford 1.0T Ecoboost 125 is a great engine in the Fiesta and in the B-Max. Less so in the Focus where it pulls well, but is not economical because it has to work harder. I'd say even less so in a 7-seater Grand C-Max. You will not enjoy the 50mpg economy that I guess you are getting from the 1.6 TDCI. I think you'd be throwing quite a lot of good money away to make the swap.
