Sent parking fine after dropping someone off at the train station - should I pay?

My son has received a parking ticket after parking for five minutes outside Ealing Broadway Station. He parked in a bay rather than block the high street, which he thought considerate. Should we take any notice of this exorbitant fine or ignore it?

Depends on whether the parking bay was on private land owned by the station or rail operator or was public road. If it was a drop zone then there will be rules. Could be he stayed too long. It does not take five minutes to drop people off at a station- it takes 30 seconds.
