ABS warning light has come on - what does it mean?

The ABS warning light has come on my 1995 Jaguar XJ6. Can you tell me what’s wrong? Is the care safe to drive, or should I take it to a garage?

You might be looking at a wheel sensor at less than £200. Or it might be an ABS pump at £2000. For a 1995 model, I would take it to an older Jag specialist. Do not take it to a franchised dealer, otherwise you'll pay a lot to fix it.
