Ford Galaxy suffering coolant problems

I have a 2006 Ford Galaxy, which has covered more than 100,000 miles. A few weeks ago we took the car abroad, but the water coolant suddenly emptied and forced us to return home. Before that we'd already replaced the water pump and the thermostat.

We have taken the car to three Ford garages and two independent centres, but nobody can tell us what the problem is. The car is fine running around town, however towing a trailer and going uphill causes a lot of problems. Can you help?

You have been asking too much of the car for too long. If the head gasket has failed, that is one kind of big job. If the turbo is failing that is another kind of big job. No comfortable easy answer.
