Which new car to replace my 2008 Golf?

I am in the process of starting the quest to replace my 2008 Volkswagen Golf MK5 GT Sport TDI 140 DSG in January 2013. This car has over 60,000 miles on the clock and has been absolutely trouble free. As I no longer work and only do about 5,000 pa, I am considering the Volkswagen Golf MK7 SE TSI 122 DSG as a replacement.

I am concerned a little about what I read about the current VAG DSG problems, to that end, is the Volkswagen Golf MK7 DSG a good bet, or have you got any suggestions for an alternative replacement?

The Mk VII you describe is more likely to be reliable and now has a belt cam EA211 engine rather then the chain cammer that often went wrong under Volkswagen's longlife service regime. I think Volkswagen should simply warrant its DSGs for 5 years and rid the public of any lingering doubts about them, but that's up to the bean counters at VAG.
