My key battery has died?

My battery in my key has gone flat. Do I need a new key or can I just get the battery changed? Also would I have to do this at the dealer or are other places able to offer this service?

If the key has lost the codes then it needs to be recoded. If it has retained them then you can change the battery yourself, but you have to do this extremely quickly, within 10 seconds, or the codes will be lost. So get the new battery out of its packaging and ready before you take the old battery out.
