Fabia vRS consuming too much oil?

I bought a Fabia vRS in February and it has the oil usage problem. The had the consumption test done and was informed that it was to have the breather modification done.

Since then the car is still using a lot of oil and also developed an intermittent fault with the passenger window (doesn't go up or down).

I bought a newer car (11 reg) to have fewer worries about it, not more. Am I in a position to hand the car back? I don't want to get to the point where the warranty runs out and be hit by a big bill (new engine, dsg gearbox problem, etc).

You could deem the heavy oil consumption as unacceptable, rendering the car "not of satisfactory quality" and attempt to reject it. Much easier if the amount in question is less than £10,000 because that makes it a 'small claim'. A nightmare if it goes to full county court as the cost of that could bankrupt you. www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/
