Buying a car with repaired damage - what do I do?

I recently bought an ex-motability Mazda 2 (2009/41,000miles) from a reputable dealer from whom I've bought cars before. They were more than willing to let me take it to my own local garage for a check-over, where it was pointed out that the doors down one side and the boot lid had been resprayed, but to such a good standard that this was only noticeable under ultra-violet light.

Mechanically the car was excellent, although a couple of small pieces of trim items were missing. The dealer readily confirmed that he had bought the car in a damaged condition, stating that it seemed to have been scraped down one side.
The bits of trim were soon fitted, and I proceeded with the purchase. I'm pleased with the car, except that I now find that although the wing mirror on the "damaged" side can be adjusted electronically, it doesn't retract like the other one. I've never had a car with this feature before, so I've only just tried it out.

Looking closer, the assistant at the dealers commented that the mirror unit was not a Mazda part, so I'm guessing that it was a victim of the same incident as the side panels.

At the moment, they're not too keen to replace the unit with a genuine part, but surely I can insist on the car having all its features working unless I was told otherwise? If so, do I have to accept a cheaper version of the part?

If the car is supposed to have electric folding side mirrors, then it should have them both sides and unless you got the car at a special price in the knowledge it had been damaged I think you can insist that the non folding mirror be replaced with one that folds.
