A plastic bag stuck to the exhaust pipe can produce some unusual smells.

To advise CM of Belfast about untraceable smells, it might be useful to add the possibility of his picking up a plastic bag on his exhaust pipe, as it stinks to high heaven. When it happened to me - on a Sunday with in-laws in the back - the only place open (Kwikfit) put the car on the ramp and scraped it off in five minutes without charge. Needless to say I looked after the lads.
