Enough to make your heir girl

What is the most appropriate car for a 17/18 yr old girl, hoping to go university next year. Test already passed and likely to really need a car. Parents and/or grandparents have to stump up. Many people might currently be facing this situation. It should be a practical 4 seater in a low insurance bracket. What might be the right model to look for?
