I complained to a supermarket after receiving a parking ticket and had it waived.

Whilst away on a regular weekend break in Wales, we parked our vehicle in the car park of a well-known supermarket chain. Two hours is the free time at this site, but we arrived to find a parking ticket issued by Parking Eye; £45 if paid now, and £90 if not paid in the time period specified. We had overstayed by less than five minutes. So I paid the £45, to avoid any further penalty, then told the well-known store by email that I would not shop in its store in that town ever again, at a loss of some £1500 a year to the store chain and its shareholders.

The result, after they checked I had actually been in the store, was that I got my money back, (keep receipts, have a loyalty card). I have to say the representative of the store chain was very sympathetic to our claim.
