Parking enforcement after the England/France six nations rugby match at Twickenham

I recently went to watch the England/France rugby match at Twickenham with four friends.

We drove down, two stayed in Hounslow and we stayed south of Twickenham.

When we arrived we stopped outside the hotel in Hounslow to drop our friends off, this took two minutes but I parked with one wheel on the pavement while they got there bags from the boot.

I have now received a penalty notice from Hounslow council for £110 for parking with one wheel on the pavement. Is this reasonable or have I cause to appeal?

The ticket will have a reference to the parking adjudication appeals process on it somewhere.
