Buying my first car in Germany

I got my driving licence last year in Germany. I am now planning to buy a used car. Here are my requirements and my usage, can you be please kind enough to suggest a car for me.

1. I would use it only on weekends and for long trips
2. prefer 4/5 door as I find 3 door really cramped
3. petrol car as in Germany you pay more money for taxes and insurance
4. good mileage and low maintenance
5. I have heard engines with timing belts are more prone to trouble than the ones with chain, thats why I have shortlisted Nissan and Mazda as its supposed to be hassle free maintenence.

Please also do let me know if there any better first used cars that suit my needs.
